CSX OCS Move

Unread post by CG Tower »

P920, CSX office car special, is running from Columbus to Toledo today, however, it is being routed back from Toledo as well this afternoon via Deshler, Lima, Cincy as a dead head move. Heads up this afternoon folks...look for it to leave Toledo around 2 pm.

Power is CSXT 9998, 9999.

That'll look nice going by the house :-) but I'll be at work(thankfully) wonder what the purpose of the trip is?

The northbound trip was up the entire C&O...and no, they are NOT planning on going to NB terminal. It may be for a myriad of purposes. However, the southbound will be dead head only, just FYI.

To see if Y@ will skip football practice to see it. It's all a test by his coaches to see if he's really committed to his team.

Running as P92112 on duity at 0600, they will be long gone from Walbridge by 1400. Already at Marion at 0940. Deadhead Lima crew already called to DH at 0930. Also it ie headed home or to where ever via Louisville, and Kayave. (I forget where that is).

FYI - as of 1125 the train is currently sitting in Walbridge making a manuever to shove into a track and refuel the engines, once that's done the Lima crew should hop on board and highball for Lima (per scanner chatter).

Eh, OCS isn't something I care about that much...just doesn't strike any extreme interest in me.

 Well, you don't have to worry much then as that's only the second time in the last ten years it's visited Toledo... (although it does seem to go somewhere in Ohio at least once a year - although not usually at a useful time/place for me).

After camping out under the US 40 overpass at Vandalia to escape the 90+ degree heat, I caught it just before 4PM.

I'm jealous of that beautiful sunny shot you got! Good job.

Here's my 'take' for the day, first up about to duck under Rt 20 south of Walbridge:

Then sitting in Walbridge:

And finally after departing and rolling along the terminal about to duck under Oregon Rd:

Thanks, but you guys have a better variety of locations and angles compared to Dayton. Not my first choice, shooting off a busy overpass during the high sun, but it was worth it.
