Looks like they were training/ educating the local EMA, Sherriff at the propane transload site today. By the time I got off work they had left and I swung in for some cell pics, sorry its all I had. Not sure who's running the transload op yet. Ken 8)

There was a CF&E train WB approaching Delphos shortly before Noon today. Two locomotives and 4-5 cars.

Edit: just saw BNSF8000 post that was the train I saw

11/16/14 EB pair of NS lite engines through Van Wert 12:20PM. Leading NS 8818 [9-40C] followed by NS 8984 [9-44CW] running lite both long hood forward. Wonder if this was NS crew or CF&E crew? Or could CF&E/NS be training some crews this way? Anybody know? Heads up Lima.

Another lite power move eb, a CP wide leading an NS wide. Qualifying NS crew fast track?

3042 is on the property, I saw it at the Ft Wayne shop today. Also got a better look at 4056. At least they made sure the paint was a match with this one.

midland or anyone else - how many engines does it take to keep CF&E and IORY fluid? At one time IORY alone had around 32 4-axle units for all its divisions.

32 four axles...? I can't remember them ever having that many. Maybe back 1998-99, but I can't tell you what they had.

If you go back to when they "shared" power '04 to '07ish I think at most they had 45 or 50 they were sharing at one time around 2005. Some just off the top of my head from '05. The WC SD45s left sometime after the NREX turds showed up. I&O SW1500s weren't along long either. If I remember correctly CFE needed 12 to 14 units and the rest on the I&O/CIND. That was back in Ford traffic days also. Compare that to Great Recession 2009 they tried poorly to run the I&O with 13 locos and 5 on the CIND... I believe the CFE management got tired of getting the shaft on power and ended up pushing the assigned power issue '07-'08.

4 WC SD45s
3 NYSW SD70Ms
10 CFE GP38s
5 NREX SD40s
4 I&O SD40s
4 I&O GP40s
2 CORP GP40s
4 LLPX GP38s
2 PIR SW1500s
2 I&O SW1500s
RPMX 9??? GP40Wl-2
CEFX 3092 SD40
CEFX 6671 GP38 thing
CSCD 6637 GP40
2 NREX MP15AC things

You are probably right about the year. I was quoting the IORY/DT&I article from a Rail Fan and News dated around 2000 or something like that. You probably will remember the article better than I will.

No amount of power could make the I&O run fluid. They could have 40 brand new ES44AC's and they'd still find a way to s**t the bed.

The rumor mill says the NS OCS will run the CF&E east this week. No confirmation yet but I've heard it from fb, train orders and a NS angle.

Heard the same rumors about the NS OCS. Would be cool to see if it happens.
