Brent, aka MagnumForce I had to have saw you down by the diamond "Estry" in Van Wert. After 19A Passed I crossed the N. Wall St. crossing just east of Estry. Maybe next time. Anyway great pictures of the train! Like the one in Delphos by the PRR hotel and the train rounding the curve in VW with the county courthouse in the background. Even the train knocking the Pennsy signals down to red is never old.

CF&E westbound with a signal across CSX at NS Tower in Lima @ 3:05pm. Don't know if its an NS run-through or a CFE move, just heard on the feed...

Via Facebook post with photo evidence: CSX 7826 leading CREX 1321 on a Bunge grain train. Hopefully that CITIRAIL leads back east in good light!heartlandguy wrote:CF&E westbound with a signal across CSX at NS Tower in Lima @ 3:05pm. Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 3
Yes, alittlevanwerty CSX 7826/ CREX 1321-Citirail with a 66 car Bunge grain train in tow through Van Wert at 4:38PM. Had BNGX, FURX, CITX, NDYX among a few others. Yes, that would be a great catch alittlevanwerty. It was a nice surprise. We're literally going to see everything under the moon loco wise. Already seeing a rainbow of color. Hopefully a KCS unit will make it through Van Wert.

CREX 1324 led the grain train back east this morning in Perfect light! Through Van Wert about 8 am.
Also The loaded Wheeling rail train is at Lima, the W&LE locomotive is out of "Q" so a CF&E engine will likely pull it to Crestline unless the wheeling sends fresh power to Lima

This was the only LIVW I filmed in Van Wert in 2014! (new upload) Slacking this year but I did get a ton of CF&E action elsewhere.
Yesterday was a busy one for grain trains! A Bunge grainer with (about 65 cars) in the morning and another also heading east around noon. The second had CFE 3882 leading a UPSD70M and a UP Gevo. 89 Bunge/CYSX cars on that if what they told the dispatcher was correct!

1/2/15. Another NS WB 19A through Van Wert at 12:02PM. In charge were NS 8203/KCS 4106/KCS 4151 with 55 cars. Already now have seen the KCS units on the Pennsy! New year is off to a great start. Train consisted of 1 BNSF flat upfront, 7 grain cars- CEFX among others, 10 box cars-SRY, IBTX,IT; 4 tank cars, 15 2-bay covered hoppers, 12 plastics hoppers, 1 scrap high sided gon, 2 empty flats, 1 3-bay covered hopper, 2 loaded gons.
I wonder if NS has enough crews yet to run some of the oil trains through here? I guess we"ll see in the next days/up to a couple of weeks when they start running. Or will the 19A be a constant every so often WB even with the other EBs. Time will tell.
Love the KCS Southern Belle scheme.

Are all of the old Pennsy signals still intact along the CF&E? I was following the line on Google Earth this morning and found several in street views.

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 3
Almost all of them are left. When the line was made dark they were simply turned and we're supposed to still be serviceable if need be, but that was 30 years ago and time has really taken it's toll on a lot of them. Others like that one in Monroeville look very fresh.

Nice of that cop to illegally park on railroad property right next to them too!MagnumForce wrote:Almost all of them are left. Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 3
I remember when the line went dark. They began turning them away right after Amtrak stopped running in November 1990. At that time, they also removed the Forest and Lafayette detectors. The signals used to be about every 4 miles apart. I can remember west of Colsan they were at 203, 207, 211, 215, and Upper diamond.
