From looking at Google Earth, I believe the overpass has room for 3 tracks under it, if necessary. I'd be surprised if the connection track would go that far west before connecting into the B&O though.

There probably was three tracks under it at one time because there was a siding on the north side.

Word is Q342 was stuffed in the intermodal yard this morning before the crew died. First time for everything indeed.

No expansion of bridge needed. Only will be two tracks under bridge. New righthand crossover west of bridge along with a righthand crossover and turnout for transfer track east of bridge.

342 crew was placed on 339 that outlawed between Godsend and Galetea. Yes there is room for three tracks under bridge but it would be tight. The bridge was redone in 2004 and new supports were installed closer to tracks.
Re: Stage Three at North Baltimore
Look for more trains in and out of North Baltimore starting early January. A few new symbols and some others will know work the yard. One of which will be a Chicago to Norfolk train in addition to the North Baltimore to Norfolk trains. Also look for service to Louisville beginning with the new Maresk business.
Re: Stage Three at North Baltimore
Thanks for the info. Makes me wanna ask, how is the connection progressing at Galatea?
Re: Stage Three at North Baltimore
Roadbed is ready for track. Ties are in gons at North Baltimore rail is laying there also. The big problem is manpower toto lay the new track.
Re: Stage Three at North Baltimore
Wonder if the new Chicago-Norfolk pair will ply the C&O like Q135/136 for now?
