MASSIVE 100 plus car LIFW waiting to head west along Elida rd here in Lima. CF&E 3316/IORY 4034. Mostly Bunge cars. Blocking at least 2 crossing right now. Anyone from The College gonna be late!

3/27/13. WB LIFW through Van Wert at 11:26AM. In the lead was CFE 3316/IORY 4034 with 57 cars. Very heavy on grain cars: CSYX, AEX, BNGX, BNSF, FMLX, CGLX and NOKL among others, 2 loaded steel flats, 6-8 box cars, 2-3 tank cars. That G&W orange is looking weathered already on the CFE 3316. Looks like the mechanical issues have did some of it on the side when it was headed WB. Good to see it though.

3/26/13. EB grain train around 3PM had 2 CSX engines and the CFE 3316 on it. Had CSX unit grain train in tow.

Thanks for the headups on the LIFW with CFE 3316 leading avanwerty! 8)

3/26/13. I'm guessing around 9:45AM the LIVW was in town with CFE 3886 and brought in 4 covered hoppers. Took 1 car out to CSP and brought back 4 from there. Left town with 3886 and 5 cars EB back to Lima. May have worked the VW Terminal.

At last check there were 11 covered hoppers at the VW Terminal for soda ash transload and 6 tank cars for the bean oil.

They are making some progress on the VW supersite work. Have started the bridge grading and footing work that I can see. Some good photos on the fwarailfan.net site in the forums/message section. Also, they were working at US 127 this morning along side of the highway. Hopefully, this will all pay off for the region someday. Got to have it in place to have a chance.

4/3/13. WB LIFW ar 9:20PM through Van Wert. Leading long hood forward was CORP 4023 with around 14 cars. Train had 8 covered hoppers, 5 steel flats and 1 tank car.

I believe on 4/1/13 LIVW was in VW and worked CSP on the southside of town. Was told it was CORP/I&O units. There are 6 covered hoppers for CSP just south of the Scott Equity: 4 ACFX, 1 NAHX and 1 SHPX.

Making good progress on the Van Wert supersite ground work for the railroad out to it. Have took a house down by US 127 and have knocked down the old Marsh barn also. It's in progress as we speak.

I thought there was a house just north of CW storage tanks on US 127. Right where the railroad ROW is going through on the very east side of US 127. I'll have to check that out with someone from the city/county if I can. Maybe I'm dreaming!

Yea, the red barn is still there. I must be dreaming. Must a been something in the salad from McD's. I guess no mailman could've delivered there. Is PR Tech still getting the switch put in when the trackwork commences? Plus, I hope they're going to use the siding to start with. I wonder if Carter Lumber could/would want a switch put back in? Now's the time if it's worth to them. Might not be justifiable.

In MI Carter Lumber opened a distribution yard on CN's Mt Clemens sub about a mile north of Mt Clemens. Its a large place that when Erb Lumber operated it received 20 cars a week during busy times. Carter is probably about half that with room to grow.
