IIRC, due to Ellen running off at the mouth, the money for the park was spent on other things.

I think it is a go...

When I was there for Fostoria Railroad Days, they were acctually working with a backhoe picking up the scrap on the property.

Last I knew, the Rail Park was put on hold. Even if they're clearing out scrap from the old junk yard, it's a contiuing project that's been going on for a while now.

I was just in Fostoria last weekend. Ellen came up to me handing out her packets and I asked her about the railpark. She said to send the Mayor an email and ask him why the railpark isn't being built. I've been hearing about this railpark for like 7 years now. I doubt it will ever be built.

Fostoria is pretty much just one big group of failures living in a colony together... there just happens to be trains in town. Screw the rail park there... build it somewhere nice.

Seems to be the way things are in most places...not just Fostoria.

There was a lady at the November 2009 Gratroit Valley train swap meet in Detroit who was from the Fostoria Rail Preservation Society. She was representing the Society and had some excellent hand out material (map of the proposed park, various station and rail lines locations etc.) She indicated that they were planning to start construction on one reveiwing stand in the spring and would be adding on as they got more monies, grants etc. She indicated that the city was very much behind the project and was realizing the value of the site and influx of visitors to the city.

I was in Fostoria yesterday and they had a couple of Caterpillar construction machines out front. Did not look like they had done anything yet.

I was at Fostoria on 11-8 and 11-9 and the Caterpillar machines were there when I was there.

That was probably Ellen. I've been hearing her same BS for years. Can't believe anything she says.

I have it on good authority from the mayor of Fostoria, He is waiting on funds to tear down the existing buildings, in preparation to start the Rail Park. Also to the Mayor stated "If there are any problems concerning Ellen. To please call his office and state your complaint and it will be handled.

Nice to hear that coming from the mayor. I believe the mayor... not Ellen.
