How is that possible? Doesn't NS technically, thru the merger of the N&W and Southern own the NKP reporting mark? Just like they own the N&W and SOU reporting mark?

765 is referred to as NKP 765 on the radio but in reality is "RPCX" which are also used on private cars and things of that sort.

Now I am almost positive 901 is CNRY for Cincinnati Railway.

Magnum is correct, it's true reporting marks are still CNRY 901. It was CNRY 85 before it was repainted.

Incorrect NKP 901 is officially reporting marked NKP, friend who works for CNRY(and who was apart of the restoration) told me that NKP historical society owns the right to NKP marking.

Dinner Train was to be I&O powered last weekend but that didn't happen so DT was canceled last weekend. LM&M is using NS GP38-3 #5805 pulling the passenger train out of Lebanon. CNRY 55 is OOS with a few issues and CNRY has NS 5805 on a 1-month lease. NKP 901 still in Lima with a minor issue that should be fixed in the next few days days and GMRY 30 is OOS indefinitely

Thank you IORY_fan, i had asked the same person when i worked there and just knew it was nkp. Even better to hear its the historical societies mark.
Also, OOS on 30 is.. def a good way to put it.

If that's the case shouldn't it be NKPX since it is non railroad like the B&O Museum is BOMX.

I am more inclined to think that someone is simply mistaken, show me something verifiable and I will believe it.

I would trust Midland Sub over just about anyone when it comes to stuff in that area too.

Not that I have any skin in the game, but using my "UMLER" lookup tool, I don't see a CNRY 901 in the database, nor a NKP 901. Of course, none of the other CNRY engines given show anything either. GMRY 30 comes back as a GP30 though. Any other suggestions as to reporting marks?

Does IORY 85 show up? That's what 901 used to be.

NKP reporting marks are now owned by NS. FWHS is Fort Wayne Historical Society. Technically, 765 would be FWHS 765.

765 the steamer, is RPCX 765 in UMLER. That is what is on the 'blue card' and how its referred to when moving in the lead on a train. If you listen, they get "Manditory Directives" to the "RPCX 765".

Unless its a common carrier, reporting marks for a company don't end with anything other than a X. FURX, CEFX, MOBX, etc. That's why CSX's official Umler designation is CSXT.

Last time I asked it was still listed Cincinnati Railway on the blue card. That was a good six-eight months ago. I asked because I wondered what they used when it was on the dinner train. I know people that have heard them say both CNRY 85 and NPK 901 on the dinner train.

You can also try IORP for a reporting mark.

This isn't directed towards IORY_fan, but there's a click of people at the TOP of the CNRY that think they can do whatever they want, especially when it comes to snapping their fingers at the I&O to play trains. Nothing surprises me with them.
