NS Between Muncie and Portland

Unread post by Huelsy'sTrainBlog »

I am looking to follow the track from Portland to Muncie this Sat. I know there are few trains that use this besides the few locals. Is there anything interesting along the line such as old depots, signals, bridges etc, to take pictures of?

I'd refer you to this Indiana Rail Roads Bull Session thread:

Shouldn't be much signal-wise until you get to Muncie since it's dark territory. If you have a scanner tune to 160.440 and listen for somebody to get a track authority with an SP prefix on their limits. Muncie is SP 170ish and the numbers go down as you go east.

Old signals are still up on the Ohio side. NS took all the NKP signals down, Rj Corman hasn't.
