Re: Sarnia tunnel
Amtrak does not operate through the tunnel. They publish a schedule which you should have piced up at the Pt. Huron depot. It lists all of their trains.

Re: Sarnia tunnel
My guess is around 12-16 a day right now. It may have been 20ish when the economy was better and CN was handling more vehicles.

Re: Sarnia tunnel
There's gotta be more than 12-16 per day. 8 trains per day go through the tunnel just from the Mt. Clemens sub - I would say a good 20-25 for sure.

Re: Sarnia tunnel
Dave's right, I was thinking west bounds and forgot their counterparts that go eastbound through the tunnel ![Embarassed ](https://mail.railroadfan.com/phpbb/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)

Re: Sarnia tunnel
Well, Don..your original estimate may be more correct..8 to/from MtC, then 148/149, 392/393, 394/395, 396/397, 398/399, and finally the 503(?..cant recall the number) the runs between Tunnel Yard and Sarnia Yard..dunno how many, if any, autorack trains run anymore (271/272 IIRC)..so 18-20 a day...was closer to 30-35 not that long ago..

Re: Sarnia tunnel
How many trips does 503 make through the tunnel each day? IIRC, I saw it one day a couple years back and it was making it's 3rd or 4th trip of the day through the tunnel...

Re: Sarnia tunnel
It depends on what is needed to be moved between the 2 yards I recall seeing several trips for the 503 many times..
Steve..which Auto trains are back? Need to brush up on Port Huron myself..will be round there alot this winter...

Re: Sarnia tunnel
Add 301/302 which is a train they re-routed last summer as well that is running this way instead of through Northern Ontario to and from the west.
