short q326 just by east waverly
has three engines , main reason for heads up is road slug 2269 is the middle unit of the engine consist

also wanted to say that the 2269 looks like it's a gp 30?
could mr tops or doc confirm or not about the gp30 look

There are just of 40 C&O and B&O heritage GP30s which operate as road slugs on CSXT. C&O units were originally in the 3000 series and B&O units in the 6900 series. The Seaboard also contributed a few, and CSX acquired a number from the ICG and GM&O. Overall, I'd say about 60-65 of the road slugs currently on CSX are from GP30s. About another 65 are rebuilt from mostly C&O and B&O GP35s. The remainder are rebuilt from former GP40s. All together, these fill the 2200-2330 block (GP30s and GP35s) and the 2331-2350 (GP40s).

You'll find the Chessie Chapter has written a couple great spotlights on the GP30/GP35 road slugs, and also on the GP30Ms, the GP30s which were not converted and served CSX until 1997. Check them out!

As for the 2269, it's one a couple Road Slug/GP40-2 mother combos which are now in CSX scheme 7 paint! C&O reminiscant for sure! 2269 looks great and it would be awesome if it stayed around west Michigan for a while. How ironic we were just discussing road slugs in the Shoutbox last night

As for other class 1s with GP30s, NS and UP have disposed of all of theirs. BNSF operates a fleet of nearly 100 GP30s from the Santa Fe. They also operate at least as many GP39Es and GP39M's, rebuilt from BN GP30s. Many of these retain their outward GP30 features.

I was out running errands when this came into GR, so I missed it. Maybe I can still catch it down at the yard while it's waiting to go on to Lansing and beyond.

CSXT 2269 still shows as being in GR...anyone know what the lead unit was on Q326? Then i could check to see if it's left, and left the slugs here in GR.

ES44DC 5372. All 3 were in the dark blue YN3 paint scheme. They looked pretty sharp.
Incidently 2269 is ex-CSXT 4139/B&O 6972 (a GP30). Also, some of the road slugs in the 2331-2350 range are former GP38's. Although the Bull Sheet website lists all of them (except for one) as GP40's, it lists the former numbers, and by the numbers, 2336, 2338, 2340, 2342-2344, and 2349 were GP38's.
