Lake State Assignments

Unread post by LSRC »

I am just doing a little tracking here. If anybody has any current info, please post. Here is where the units are:

In Alpena:
381
469
3563
1195
3575
698
646
Others in the shop?

I know that the 3504 has been working the Huron Sub. I don't know if there is another engine or not.

I know that the 5921 is on the SBS
I think that these are on the SBS aswell?
371
2052
181
1280

I am missing the:
281
798
3515
3500

I believe that the 2003 is still in Washington.

Any info/corrections welcome.

Thanks

LSRC

3515 and 798 are prolly the grayling job power, 3500 is enroute to you, and the 281 is in saginaw no doubt.

3571 and 3563 were on tonights 326. Is the 3500 with the 3504? Also, is there a unit still based out of Grayling for the Gaylord train?

I couldn't see if it was the 3504.. i'm about 1500 feet from the tracks. and yes.. there is still power kept to run the grayling train from grayling to Pinconning and back. they also have to have something (same power) to switch customers up north there.

Ok, what unit am I missing then? Is the 281 in Gaylord? Think...Think...Think...DUH! 974! I haven't seen her in AGES! Must be in Gaylord. Just a quick question, when a unit that works Gaylord needs to be at its 92 day inspection, does it trade power with the Grayling train, then the Grayling train trade power with the 301? Then put on the 327 to Alpena.

Thanks,

LSRC

I was up in Alpena last Saturday...
975 is on the dead line....an so
is the 469...those along with
other engines will some time in
the near future be moved down
to the Saginaw Shop....will be
nice to see the 975 and the 469
running again....Yeahhhhhhhhh!!

On a sad note...the 646 from the
famed Detroit & Mackinaw days
has been sold, and will be sent
in the near future to its new owner.

Oh, well, the locomotive was really nice piece of History. But, will the new owners change it to their colors? or referb its D&M Colors?
