Judd 3-15-07

Unread post by GT1970 »

Went to Judd St. about 5 pm. watching the switch job, red Ford Ranger pulls up, guy steps out and asks, "You a railfan?" To witch I replied "YES." He turns around and digs in the back of the truck and hauls out a huge book on the history of steam. Hands it to me and says, "I've got a bunch of train junk in my basement and I put something in the truck and drive down here to unload it." He also said he works for CSX and that they have had some problems with taggers in the yard. I guess the tank cars that sit across from the end of Judd St. have been spray painted and he said to put the word out that if anyone sees anybody in the yard thats not CSX to call their 800 number and report it. :D

I believe that's their police command center number, or something like that, so it's not just for crossing troubles.

I've called it a couple times, a recording after the first ring, says "CSX RAILROAD POLICE, YOUR CALL IS BEING RECORDED". Then the dispacther puts you over to the signal department when you say you have a broken signal or false activation to report.
