Gee PAT, you just had to post that with the at least 6 or so spelling and grammatical errors!
I used to get paid for doing what all of you like to watch!

Seeing 765 at Owosso is cool. Seeing PM 1225 back in action would be better.
I'm older than most on this forum, and can recall riding a passenger train behind GTW steam to Owosso.
The steam locomotives do bring back memories of days gone by.

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
I can hardly wait for the 3-page long location threads on when it leaves and the speculation on what route it takes
Maybe this year I'll actually chase it to Alma, depends on how thick the foam gets.

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
I'm sure there will be a motorcade alongside the 765, but it wont be as bad as during Train Fest.
Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
Any word on what day they are going to move the 765 up to Owosso?
Yours truly,
Ron

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
Cuyohoga Valley is first. Wait until then. Routing will prolly be NS to AA @ Alexis just like last time. And with the new NS Steam Program, and 765's run to Trainfest from N. Judson, 765 led instead of the diesel. I would guess that may happen this time.
Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
So they are talking bringing the 765 up the Ann Arbor Railroad from Alexis Junction? I know that many years ago, the Bluewater Michigan Chapter wanted to run the 765 on that line, but the bridge in Dundee supposedly couldn't support the weight of the Berkshire. However, the 587 was light enough that it didn't cause any problems.TrainWatcher wrote:Cuyohoga Valley is first. Wait until then. Routing will prolly be NS to AA @ Alexis just like last time. Did the exact same last year. Watched the handoff from NS to AA at Alexis Jct. Myself, along with a few people from the board.

And here it was going by the depot at 288 on the way up to Alexis for the hand off:TrainWatcher wrote:Did the exact same last year. Watched the handoff from NS to AA at Alexis Jct. Myself, along with a few people from the board.
Shame the weather sucked for that one.

It was handed to NS at Milan for the return to Ft Wayne.dti407 wrote:TrainWatcher wrote:Did the exact same last year. Watched the handoff from NS to AA at Alexis Jct. Myself, along with a few people from the board.

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
I remember the 765 coming to Milan on the old Wabash from Fort Wayne, then going north on the Ann Arbor Railroad. Then it returned the same way in reverse order. When did the 765 come up the Ann Arbor from Toledo?

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
The summer of 2009 for Trainfest, NKP 765 came via Ft. Wayne-Milan.
Fall 2010 came from Cuyohoga Valley via NS and handed off to AA at Alexis.

Yes - and both ferry moves were well documented by members of railroadfan.com!TrainWatcher wrote:The summer of 2009 for Trainfest, NKP 765 came via Ft. Wayne-Milan.

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
You guys think it will run on NS this year without a diesel on the point? I'm gonna assume there will be a diesel until I hear otherwise, but with the NS Steam Program, I suppose it's possible.TrainWatcher wrote:Cuyohoga Valley is first. Wait until then. I'm gonna drive up from Columbus and chase it on the ferry move from Ft. Wayne to Akron next week, probably wait on it in Bellevue, but if it runs on NS diesel free, I may start the chase furthur west.

Re: 765 RETURNS TO OWOSSO.
Word has it, recently 765 will not lead to Bellevue. Diesel in front as last year.
