GR 3839

Unread post by Mr. Tops »

I have finally brushed the dust off my camera! It's been over 3 months since I've taken a train picture. For a couple days now, GR 3839 has been sitting outside looking like this: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictur ... %20002.jpg

Prime mover has been removed with the long hood sitting next to the rest of the unit. Not sure where the prime mover went, or what will be done with it, but it's aparent that 3839 will be fixed, whether it gets a new engine, or gets its old one fixed.

The GP9's and MMRR 3836 are all alive and well, not sure about 73. 3836 and 180 were holding down the Waverly Turn for a while, but last night 180 was swapped out for 179.

My new house is due west about 1/2 mile from the old C&O/GTW diamond near Hackley St. in Muskegon. I can clearly hear horns, bells, wheels squeeling and even the clickety-clack! If I go outside and walk about 20 feet to Hackley St, I can see the train. Sweet!

Hurray! Had heard that she was due to get fixed. Hope they get her up and running again soon. :)

Meanwhile, what's up with that HS boxcar? It's been sitting in front of the enginehouse for at least 2 or 3 months. Doesn't HS want it back?

Another question, anyone know the story on SOR 1367? Still sitting at Ann St. last I heard/saw.

They're probably trying to figure out what to do with the HS boxcar too. The roof has been popped up by a forklift or something...

thats an easy fix for that boxcar. LSRC forces do roof tops almost weekly on boxes.
