Hey Owl,

Nice pictures, very bright and clear for a cloudy day. You must have a nice camera! It looks like they were working on the spur for the art train.

Also, I looked at NS 3044. I felt something’s then I looked turn to south then realized Ann Arbor RR showed up and moved on bridges of Argo Dam for Omser. AARR 2373 lead and 2368 powered 64 cover hopper cars (most CSX cars) at 12:15pm (too late picture and video). When Amtrak #353 went away, I waited for AARR came back on bridge. Until AARR showed up about 1:30pm, they two engines alone without any cars! - video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 0619848299

Heritage Baggage?!?!

Unread post by GP30M4216 »

HEY! What's the story with the Heritage Baggage car on 353 in Owl's photos? I haven't seen a baggage car on a Michigan Line train since Checked Baggage was eliminated from MI runs around 2003 or so. Was this a special move similar to the baggage which is on the Pere Marquette for ski groups this time of year? Or a trial run to te-institute Checked Baggage on some Michigan Line trains? Any info would be great, along with the road number of that Baggage from 353 that day. Thanks! :)

A host service gave me a blue soft cover book about Charter Manufacturing Co (sorry, no website!). That book has describes:

"Charter Manufacturing Company has helped to reopen the book. While other companies invest in corporate jets, Charter owns and operates three railroad cars, and it uses them not as museum pieces, not for private pleasure, but for business. The cars are rolling sale suites, Charter's way of showing appreciation for its existing customers and soliciting the attention of new ones. Even in the select family of private cars owned by business, Imperial Leaf, Golden Moon, and St James Place are standouts. Elegantly finished, meticulously staffed, the railroad cars are unique in corporate America."

Blahs, blahs, photos and blahs...
Sorry, I can't make this (blue soft cover book) all copies of the pages.

I guess so that American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners. See link: http://www.aaprco.com/

The bag car was on 354 that night because of a ski group headed back to Kalamazoo and Battle Creek.

On a related note, checked baggage is expected to return to KAL, ARB, and DER **only* by October, 2007.
