GLC Pipe Loads

Unread post by chapmaja »

Recently, as in the last few times I've gone towards Durand, I have noticed loads of pipes at Oak Grove along the GLC. I also noticed several cars in the Durand yard as well. I assume these cars are being handed off to the GLC from CN (via the HESR) and then are hauled down to Oak Grove for unloading. The field next to the tracks is loaded with pipes.

Does anyone know what project this is that is going on?

Enbridge is rebuilding their pipeline. And you are correct about the pipes coming from the CN

I've heard that pipe for this project will also be staged in the CN Kilgore Yard in Kalamazoo.

Indeed, that's one of the reasons CN is re-opening Kilgore as a "base" and the Kzoo job will start going on duty there.
