LSRC Derailment

Unread post by AARR »

From SaginawLeo at MIRR.com
Lake State grain train on the Paines sub derailed friday night/saturday at 1:28am.
Train crew reported 2 or 3 cars on the sides, and 3 more off the track but still upright.
Wreck was about 75 cars back in a 85 car train.
The derailed cars are about 700 feet East of S.Center Rd. crossing in Saginaw Township.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Nothing new on this chunk of rail. About 3 years ago I was redoing a parking lot at the school north of the line and in rolled Hulcher. They unloaded and built their side booms out on Center rd where it is 3 lanes. They then tracked the quarter mile south to head about 700 feet west of the grade to put 3 cars back on the rails.

Update, went by today. Contractor Rail Services/Shaw Contracting out of Bay City has built a road to the wreck site, and cars are currently being emptied.
