New Signals at W. Flint on CN

Unread post by bnsfben »

Say goodbye to yet another set of searchlights on CN's Flint sub. While driving back to MSU today, I noticed there are LED signals up at CP West Flint. The heads are turned perpendicular to the track, so they haven't been activated yet. There aren't too many searchlights left out there on the Flint sub. Correct me if im wrong but, I think CP Durand is the only control point east of CP Cedar with search lights.

Between Bristol Yard and the Amtrak station/CSX Crossing, there was another interlocking with searchlights. Not sure if that's been replaced. Were the signals at the CSX diamonds replaced? I should remember the name of the junction but I can't remember now... :/

There's still an old style intermediate on the main at the west end of Flint yard at Bristol road. The dwarf coming off the Delphi spur at West Flint is still there for now as well, no new signal has been put up to replace that. The CN signals at the CSX diamonds (Kearsely) were replaced a few years ago.

Uhhhh, not yet; while the new masts are in place, the new signal heads haven't been placed on them yet.

I must be thinking of somewhere else.

Shouldn't be much longer before they change them on the Holly Sub. At least in my town (Fenton)....

They are SLOWLY replacing them on the Holly. However, north of Pontiac is not high priority.

I'm pretty sure you're right. Seems like from the siding at Emmett and points east still have the searchlights, although Tappan itself isn't as accessible as it used to be these days...

East Durand now has LED signals installed. Heads are turned, but the new signals are standing.

Norm, yes. That's East Durand according to the CN timetable.
