On the Ann Arbor/GLC Fan Facebook page, a photo on Tuesday June 10 shows GLC 397 & 398 elephant style on CSX on a westbound freight as solo power. I cannot link the pic via Android, but is this now a new opportunity for GLC?
Another pic from 5/5/14 from that same group: - They had to pick up 86 cars. At Ann Pere.
Looks like that group leader just copies and pastes updates from here onto that facebook group constantly.
When GLC has a large pick up or set out (40+ cars IIRC) they have to use the passing siding rather than the interchange track. This requires GLC venturing rather far out onto CSX's main line.
Back in the days when TSBY interchanged unit grain trains with CSX at Ann Pere this was a more common occurrence. Since unit grain trains started going to Toledo via AA need to use the CSX passing siding rather than interchange track has substantially decreased.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
The first photo was on June 9 and was 397+396 (not 398) They picked up 28 cars that had been sitting in the Howell passing siding for five days. With all of the used tied loads coming to GLC at Ann Pere from CSX now, GLC crews have once again been requalified to run on CSX at Howell up to Highlander Way westbound, and Chilson Road east bound if needed. like they used to when grain trains were being interchanged at Ann Pere years ago. The other photo was taken last month when GLC picked up the 86 cars that had been sitting in the Howell pass for another five days. This was the qualifiying trip for GLC crews as a CSX trainmaster was onboard with them.
