Does anyone happen to know the status of the new Detroit-Windsor rail tunnel project, also known as the Continental Rail Gateway? The last news I encountered was from November 2013 where project leaders stated that construction could start in one year:

Is this project still on track, or has it become yet another stalled Michigan endeavor that will never see the light of day?

They haven't had a press release on their website since 2013.

I think this had a lot to do with CP and trying to update the former NYC tunnels. There had been talk about turning one portal into a truck portal at one time. The main focus now seems to have focused on a new Intermodal facility somewhere locally for CN and others to use as a joint venture.
