GRE crew on duty again this morning. Looks like NS didn't visit but CSX did (hi-cube box behind the usual Amtrak).

Looks like this is going to be a good day to get some shots with the late fall colors. The only shots I'll probably be able to get today will be from my deck.
Sounds like it's going to be cloudy tomorrow and rain on Thursday...

CSX engines 292 and 595 bringing empties from the power plant at West Olive just went by Riley Street (8:29 AM). E44513? (D802)

Edit: D802 is having a discussion with Dispatch - Dispatch told them to bring the train down after Amtrak, now Dispatch wants them to wait for D700. Problem is that D802 is at the wye, and blocking four crossings - and could end up getting a ticket for blocking the intersections. What fun.

Edit: The local radio station's (WHTC) news director Gary Stevens just announced that the CSX train is blocking the crossings for a varity of reasons - and probably just wanted to stop at the Wesco gas station for coffee...
that comment is probably going to have the locals organizing a lynch mob. I called the radio station to let them know that the crew is not just taking a break - they have to follow the orders from Dispatch...

thanks for the notes on that Tlout... on the drive in to work, listened to that same conversation, and wondered where that empty coal train was clogging up...wonder if they were long enough to block Roost Ave, Lakewood Blvd, James St, and Riley St...those last three are definately not good ones to block...

this morning 326 eb had approx 40 to 50 cars
d700 went to sawyer and livingston last night - eb with 3 - steel & 17 sand cars
d802 did have the empties from west olive going to wyoming
x500 just called east saugatuck clear a few min's ago

1148am - wb - d008 - 8025 ld & 1 in trail - ballast train going west - loaded

Clouds + winter formula gas + high gas prices + track inspector tying up the line between Holland and GJ until 2pm = SUCKS.

Sorry I didn't see this yesterday! They had one TTX RailBox car, some boxcars from Windquest, grain hoppers, a bay window caboose in the middle of the consist, and a bay window caboose on the rear. The RailBox car might have gone to the lumber yard - I don't think it was a reefer, which is what I usually see heading for TLC; maybe they were picking up at TLC.. Maybe I can get out today and head over towards the lumber yard and see...

I've seen TTX boxcars being delivered to the Holland logistic center(TLC) and usually just centerbeams going to the lumber company. It's good to see Holland's plant getting traffic, as it's one of our smaller warehouses... wish Paw Paw's plant got railtraffic (located right on WMRR's line)

Yep - Tlout = Tim. The company my wife works for uses TLC for storage of frozen items, which is why when I see those white UP reefers going by on the local I usually figure that they're headed for TLC.

One of these days I should consider a model railroad with Holland, Zeeland, and Hamilton on it...

P371 No Super Liners yet, made it to Jenison around 1015pm, Followed them into GR watched them wye into the station, unload an followed them to up to Fuller. P371 made it to Fuller around 1130pm, then it was up to Casnovia to follow Z151
