CSX GRE Train Location Update 12-04-07

Not sure what's happening at the GRE this morning. I followed a track guy down Alpine and 1 crewman was already there but it looked like they were going to carpool someplace. No NS delivery (again) and couldn't see past Amtrak for CSX. 371 will have 2 units and 4 Superliners again this morning:)

Man, any reference to Back to the Future just makes me giggle.

At 8:35am, heard Q32703's recrew getting onboard at Ivanrest getting ready to head west..odd to hear them in the morning..wonder why they tied up at Ivanrest on the previous crew.(that great work that doktor talked about at mp 7.0?)

Amtrak in to Holland depot at 8:27 AM. Engines 192 and 11. Cars: sightseer lounge 33027, 34103, 34026, 34025.

8:58 AM Wyoming Tower called D801-04; 945 crew will meet them at Wells.

9:10 AM Q327 (CSXT 8526) approach Holland.

9:18 AM D700 with CSXT 6134 in Holland. 9:25 AM clear east end Waverly.

9:37 AM Q327 clear milepost 27.

that is an old yardmaster trick to take the train to Ivanrest. when the yard crew pulled the train down there the yardmaster departed the train from the yard. so in the csx computer the big wig seen it depart on time even it did not move down the tracks

Coal drag went by at 12:04 PM heading south to Holland (D803 or D801???) with BNSF 8979 and 8217 (in Sante Fe paint scheme).

Y121 is at Windquest; dropping off one Montreal, Maine, & Atlantic boxcar.
CSX engine 2509 and caboose 904015 Chessie System B&O. (1:00 PM)

1:17 PM - Y121 heading back to Waverly with two M,M,&A boxcars and one "generic" boxcar (probably also M,M,&A).

Y121 is opening up the switch at Ottawa Beach as of 1:35pm, then headin back to Waverly.

Heard Stickland(not from Back to the Future) working at Seymour, Q335 at Fox waiting for equipment to move before they head into GR.

Talked with JT, yard job over in Grandville switching out the lumber company there.

D80104 went west with empties..heard them talkin with another crew after they cleared Fennville, maybe to push a load like N90302 up.

Yes sir one of the great old scams on CSX of making it look like it left, before it did. Just another way to pad the pocketbooks of the execs.

Coal drag heading north - BNSF units 5862 and 9624 (3:12 approx).
Couldn't hear the train number - was to busy on the phone with work stuff...

Still man... NICE shot. That is actually the same observation car me and russ rode in to NJ!!! Im happly suprised with the train. It makes me feel better about the whole incident. Keep up the good work!
