I haven't totally been keeping track, but it seems like they rotate which two engines are in use every week or two? Right now, the 1751 & 1758 are set up on a train waiting to head south from Mason, and the 1760 is in the barn.

Just a guess on my part but it looks like 1751 might be departing Mason. They pulled the engine out of the barn this afternoon. It is now on the main line with 1758 and 1760 heading down to Jackson tonight or tomorrow morning. This is the first time I have seen all 3 engines together. I did try and ask one of the workers near the barn if the 1751 was leaving Mson but got no answer.

Well I was wrong about 1751 leaving Mason last night. The door facing south was open this morning and 1751 was inside with the passenger car. It was to dark so I could not see if the CV caboose was still there. 1758 and 1760 are siting on the main line just returning from dropping off a few box cars at Michigan Packing.

I wonder if 1751 on the JAIL is a long term solution, for the foreseeable future. I was down in Adrian over the weekend and they are now using 1759 (still in NHN colors) in addition to 1752. 1755 has also been moved to the shop in Adrian after sitting for years in Blissfield.

This morning on my way to work 1751 was on the main line along with 1758 with a number of coil cars between them. No sign of 1760.

I saw 1751 switching cars just north of the barn this morning and I assume 1758 was further north towards the Howell Rd crossing. The CV caboose has been sitting outside the building all week.
Does anyone have any more info on this Caboose or the Passenger Car that they had at the Engine Shop in Mason?

The caboose is red, and the passenger car is green. They brought them out last year for Christmas Eve, decorated in lights and with a sleigh on top, and had their employees singing Christmas carols while the train ran down to Jackson and back. I got lucky and was able to video it. I heard from a friend of mine at JAIL that they will be running the special train again this Christmas Eve.

Looked like the 1760 was getting some attention yesterday afternoon.

I assume that is the main generator?

There was a second trailer with another generator by the engine house this morning, so it looks like they are doing a swap.

That is not a cheap swap out, and I bet that core is worth a bundle. I have seen locos scrapped due to the cost of main gen replacement.
