CN Yards in Lansing

Unread post by GTWwatcher »

I have 3 yards in question here:

1. What is CN's main yard in Lansing? Is it Snow Yard?
2. What is the name of the yard where they keep the autoracks?
3. Does the nine track yard near the GM Grand River plant have a name?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

1. Yes, Snow Yard is their main yard. It is also known as Millet Yard.

2. This is known as Cory Yard.

3. I believe it is called Sleepy Hollow Yard.

The nine track yard by the GM Grand River Plant was called New Yard back in the PC-CR-NS days. It wasn't a CN property.

Yes, the yard near GM Lansing Grand River is not a CN yard, though you can interchange between it and the CN Flint Subdivision. It's called New Hollow Yard. It's gone through a lot of ownership changes, but was originally leasted to Michigan Central and LS&MS, the latter of which was incorported into the New York Central. Currently, it's leased (owned, even?) to JAIL.
