They need more power. Per the GLC mechanic on another board, the Dead 35's are going to begin a program to upgrade them and rebuild them. my guess, and its only that, is to Dash 3 standards like the SD35s they just got.

They want to make them into GP39s like BN did with all of their GP30s and GP35s. De-rate to 2300 HP, new electrical systems etc.
