Some one made mention of 1300 going to Cleveland. Came back today on Q151, and had a wheel replaced on it. I guess its not that much suprise that the next set is in Chicago. Easy trip to GR, for 92 days, and easy trip to Cleveland, for other work not preformed in GR.

After arriving at Rouge last night, walking into the office, the two gensets were sitting under the tower, and looking very clean. I looked at the number, 1302 and thought nothing of it. Making a off hand comment to the clerk, I said "What we do wash and wax them again, there awfully glossy?" And he responded no those are the new ones. Not even thinking about it I looked back and for sure, I passed two out in the yard already. These two are the 1302 & 1303. I am going to assume that theses are the other two that Rouge is going to get. It was my understanding that these were going to stay in Chicago. But I cant come up with another good reason there here other then there "home".

Several days ago when these two units were enroute to Grand Rapids from Chcago on Q326, the speculation was that they were sent to Chicago for unveiling at the annual Chicago Trade Show only, and not to be used there. Was glad to hear this as if Detroit was getting four, than lets have them numbered in order.
Saw 3 of the 4 sitting around today (sunday). They do look good paired!
Didn't take photos seeing there were much sexier things around.

Yes I have confermation, that they were only used in Chicago for the trade and some other "green" celebration. These are the other two that Livonia and who ever else paid for. They are here for good.

One will be working in Livonia? I will assume based out of Plymouth?sd70accsxt700 wrote:Yes I have confermation, that they were only used in Chicago for the trade and some other "green" celebration. These are the other two that Livonia and who ever else paid for. They are here for good.

My bad Dearborn The yard is in Dearborn, so all four will be working there, but there not allowed out on the road, so the farthest you will see them is out to Oak yard. But I believe none will be based out of Oak, just make the run between the two, to move the cars.

Cant be used any where except in the yard, as per CSXT rules, all locomotives leading a train must have opperating dynamic brakes. This is the verry reason, that a few years ago when the WSOR ballast train was here it had to have the CSX GP40-2 leading. We have delayed trains, cancled trains and such over this.
