Used to seem like noon to midnight was busy. I dunno now i had heard that traffic was way down. At least the road railer and the L44 or H44 or NS local what ever it is will go by around 1pm usually.

Any time after noon. Been there around 2-6 p and there is a train every 15 Min, been there some day and 2 trains in the same period. Its a throw up. But, if you ever wanna go give me a holler, haven't been there in a few months....

Or look up the few of us (Chris, PlymouthStationGuy (Bill), Myself, Stitch (Eric), Brian are around which during the good weather times are around frequently in Plymouth.... another good CSX Spot....

I usally would go at around 5:30 and the westbound TC would go by ,CP intermodal ,a csx intermodal and then the local with the caboose ,but that was in the summer and it's really dark at 5 pm in the winter. lol. So i'll take your guys's word to go at about 1 PM. I'm probably gonna be there monday.

Hmm, maybe I'll show up on Monday. I'm off that day. I could use some railfanning.

If you want to see trains in Romulus, your best bet is in the morning 7am to 2pm, but like the guys said, traffic is really down and NS trains are being combined and what not.

there isn't an L44 or H44 its symbol is L64 and theres an L63 aswell. You can see them around noon.

CSX traffic is kind of spread out through out the day, but NS has a morning rush then sometimes it picks up in the evening.
Romulus is still busier than other places in the area, not much for pictures though.

Ive often had good luck shooting pictures in Romulus, but you have to move away from the diamonds once and a while.

Nice, I like the BNSF train. It really depends on where u go. See I'm always in Romulus, so to me taking a picture there is like beating a dead horse.
I really wanna go to the Vining Rd. Overpass and get a shot of one.

It's not worth going out to Romulus tomorrow. According to JQ, on CSX Q216 and Q272 are anulled. On the NS there is only 2 CP trains to be seen around that time frame and 171 might be cancelled tomorrow, too. Even CP X500 is anulled tomorrow, hell, I'm not even going to try Plymouth tomorrow cause the traffic is down so much. Half of it is the holidays, half of it is the economy.

Thanks. I got chased off the bridge by a cop right after I got that shot. No, actually, he was pretty cool about it when I told him why I was up there (I had been sitting on the shoulder about 20 yards north of the bridge for about a half hour waiting for a train to come along, watching the jets fly in every couple of minutes). :)

Was it a Romulus cop? They have never bugged me ither, I'll usually park along the side of Shook Road just north of 94 in the ditch and take photos, 3 cops have passed me and never gave a second glance or brake tap. Even when there are several of us just standing in the comerica bank parking lot.
