And some CMGN/HESR/RA notes...

Unread post by RailCanon »

From the HESR Yahoo group, posted by Patrick:
ALL CMGN locos have been ordered to be repainted to HESR units ASAP.

Also, CORP 3826 is JUNK. needs a main generator and to be rewired.
what does this mean.. means its gonna be a long time before we see it.

ALSO, theres a HUGE rumor.. and right now it cant be confired, that 2 solid blue
FEC GP40's are going to be enroute to the HESR soon.

ALSO, :-) the 4065, one grey B-unit and the MNN 1471 are the units that will be
leaving the property in trade for the 3826 and the 3852. its unknown when
however. I'm going to have to ask if the 2 for one trade works on the fec units
too, cause if it does, then the GE's are done.

I wonder if they'll even paint the Dash 7's and U23B's or if they'll just replace them with EMD's? I can't believe the GE's have lasted as long as they have. I can't think of any other RA property with GE's, correct me if I'm wrong.

I heard this before.... Them U23's were suposedly gone when CM/HESR merged and their still here! In any case we all know they won't last forever. As for painting that would be neat but who knows??? Them railroads kinda do what they can when they can. I personally don't see them taking any units out of service any time soon for paint.... We'll see.

I think the whole case here is not a repaint per say, but to properly put the correct reporting marks and name on the locos. FRA was hot on that the past few years, and I rember this comming up once. I believe its to elimnate the CMGN reporting marks, as it no longer exists. The HESR owns it all now, and per FRA rules it needs to display this.

I can fix that in about 10 minutes with some Peel and Stick Letters...

HESR began CMGN operations, I believe, in January of 2004.

Their current one is the Rail America units that you see. I do remember seeing pics of just the plain HESR without the RA but I don't really remember the exact look, something with blue with yellow and white stripes, if memory serves me right.

Certainly a hodge podge of paint for HESR. Should be interesting to see what happens. The yard certainly seems full these days too. Unfortunately, a lot of whats there must be broken, or is not in use. I do like all the different paint though, makes things interesting, not the same old same old.

They would be stunning in Roanoke Red with gold trim.
