July trip to trainfest at SRI

My friend crossbuck (Bill) and I will be staying at the comfort Inn in Okemos Michigan for the weekend of July 26 and 27. Do any of you guys live near there? I believe the motel is on Mount Hope Road

I JUST CHECKED INTO ROOMS [7-24 THRU 26] AND FOUND THAT MOST OF MID-MICHIGAN MOTELS ARE SOLD OUT BECAUSE OF TRAINFEST.
ALL ROOMS IN LANSING ARE SOLD OUT FOR SAT/25 ACCORDING TO A COUPLE PLACES I CHECKED.

I think Luke is looking to see if anyone from the board lives nearby, maybe to railfan or carpool to Owosso? That's just my guess.. I'm over in Grand Rapids myself, but will be driving through lansing to owosso for that weekend.

It appears that all or most of the motel/hotel rooms are already reserved for Trainfest.
Here's an idea; we hear about all the FEMA trailers sitting empty maybe the FRA (Since this is a rail related event) can coordinate with FEMA and get some of those trailers to Owosso so people can stay in them for the event.

Just thinking outside of the box.

Zack, you are partially correct. I was trying to see if anyone wanted to hangout at Trowbridge Friday of that evening
or go get a bite to eat or have a drink or too on any of the given days that were there

Luke, I would but I work Friday nights. I won't be heading over to Owosso until early Saturday morning. Then probably staying at my parents house in Lansing Saturday night before heading back to Owosso on Sunday.
