Ben, as for routing I presume Back down the GLC to Osmer, then on the AA to Milan, and Back on NS. CN might take it, but I dont think they'd do that.

Dane, I am talking about 1225 going with 765 out on a Class 1. GLC was happy, this is true, but I Cannot Imagine CN, CSX or NS wanting to run them together on a Main Line.... SP 4449 and Doyle were in a bit of a hurry to get off CN from what I understand....

Does that come with a "secret decoder ring" for all this super-secret info?

I somewhat understand where they (SRI and the host RR's) are coming from but it's just another example in our society of stupidity of a few spoiling things for everyone else due to "fear of what might happen"...

(lawyer/legal issue paranoia being a big motivator of the "fear" part)

I still read this forum from time to time, but very rarely do I post anymore. If you read these couple of threads...and have any common sense and understanding..then I think you will figure it out. It is ashame that 5-7 people can mess up a very nice hobby. However, I have found, through the years, that this hobby attracts some of the..well.. "oddest" (and I use that term very loosely) people around. My answer to this....Watch Ships! I have been, and it is quite enjoyable. The people are friendly, the atmophere is more relaxed, and the "people in the know" are far more helpful! And those "odd" people...well, I just haven't seen any around the rivers or lakes....Maybe it is just too "scary"...or may there is not enough people around to have them say "Look at me...Look at me..." or "Guess what I know...I can't tell you..it is TOP SECRET"... Just my "two cents"

I think the differnce is on "Boatnerd.com" they review every post before it's posted. Not sure about that, but that's what I suspect. No flaming or bashing or negative comments at all 8) .

Darn, and I thought it would blasphemos to admit I enjoyed spending a few hours watching boats in the St. Clair River.
My brother who has no interest in watching anything other than females, took a picture that has some historical value to it. In Sept of 75 he was on his vacation and snapped a pic of the Edmund Fitzgerald locking thru the Soo. Who would have known at that time. :)

I agree with all that you have said, Pat, so pull MY finger

Thanks Pat, I was in total agreement with Hobojim's comments, & I KNOW others thought the same. They may not have posted it, so I guess I will. I belong to "old fart's anonymous", so I don't care! For those of you who got to see a steam doubleheader, in Michigan, you saw/witnessed a "once in a lifetime" moment, treasure it, the memories are more priceless than the photos (not really, but it sounds good, to say).

Thanks Fred for your comments....After the thread I posted asking for information on the 1225/765 Doubleheader was ignored, blown off, and locked down... took matters into my own hands....Got in the car and drove directly to Owosso and walked inside the gates and asked for the schedule details. Got the information I needed and arranged to have a great time the following Saturday. No secrets, no hesitation, just plain honesty!!!

:D Had a wonderful time Saturday out and about with the Fall Special....Thanks SRI for sharing with me. :D

SRI HAS AN EXCELLENT WEB SITE AND MEMBERS RECEIVE NEWSLETTERS.
WHEN YOU WANT CORRECT INFO--GO TO THE SOURCE. 8) 8) 8) [AS YOU DID].

AS FOR YOUR PRIOR POST---THAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN HERE.
THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED AND HOPEFULLY WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. :D :D :D

admin edit: snip removed, don't need to go down that road again.

AS I'VE SAID B4---WAIT ,WATCH, AND LISTEN AND WE WILL KNOW.
765 AND 1225 CAN NOT SNEAK OUT UNSEEN.

EXPECT MORE SECRECY IN THE FUTURE FROM SRI AND THE HOST RAILROADS.
IT IS NOW A FACT OF LIFE. LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT .WE WON'T CHANGE IT .

Anybody remember the arrival time in Owosso in July. I was thinking late afternoon? It left Ft. Wayne around 8am also that day if I remember correctly and was in Adrian around 11am-12pm. Trying to gauge when it will be near Mich/Ohio line near MP 75-80. Thanks. Ron

FYI There are NS track crews working on crossings near Packard Rd. and Seneca Hwy. in SW Lenawee County southwest of Adrian starting last week. As of Friday you could still get through crossings but there have been detour signs set up for a week in the area. Not sure of slow orders but they were working at east end of North Morenci siding last Monday. Might be a good photo op with a slower speed.

Ill be out. Racer and me will be pacing her. I hope to get some shots near Milan and the Huron River Bridge. Hopefully AA will let her lead thru downtown AA!
