Long story short:

Because some ____ bag wanted some pieces, these units haven't seen daylight in decades. Everybody loses while somebody has some "swag" on their mantle.

Someday those parts will be found. Woe to the community if somebody noteworthy has them!

You guys just blew right over CAT's post didn't you
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

I hope they push them off the end of the dock in Escanaba. "Underwater preserves" are all the rage these days.

I apologize. I meant to say: "What museum are the sharks going too (Duluth)?"

It has been reported the owner has a good relationship with IRM.

I would hope that someday they are cleaned up, missing parts replaced with replicas (again) and put back into limited service. A tourist line or maybe a short line somewhere. There is a certain loss of luster when rail equipment just sits on static display. Of course better than the entire loss of the equipment but maybe some of these treasures can be useful again.

That would result in a bigger Michigan-foamer meltdown than when 4449 arrived here.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

I said what I said cause it annoys me when people think that something stored indoors in a dry environment is neglected.
