Croswell-Bad Axe:
UAP Elevator (name has change..cant recall the name of the new owners) Inbound fertilizer-outbound grain
Current operator is Michigan Agricultural Commodities (MAC)
Deckerville:
CO-OP Elevator-outbound grain
They also get fertilizer in across the street from the grain bins
Peatville:
Michigan Peat Company-Outbound bagged soil(?)
It's my understanding this business stopped rail service years ago
Kinde
Terra has a fertilizer dealer a mile south of town and may still receive rail service and there's another small elevator in Kinde that may still ships by rail (bagged beans perhaps?).
Elkton
Tower Automotive- Outbound parts & scrap?
there are 2 other grain elevators in Elkton..but cant find anything on them
There is also a place on Farver Rd, west of Elkton, with a Spur.
I've heard Tower still ships but less than in the past. Both elevators are operated by Cooperative Elevator but one is either a fertilizer plant or grain milling plant for flour. I think the place on Farver Rd is another Terra Fertilizer dealer.
Pigeon
Active Feeds still gets a car a week or so from what I've read. BTW - Cooperative has two operations here. One is on the west side of the tracks and is their bean plant where they load bagged beans into box cars. The other is on the east side and is their huge elevator that loads 65-90 car unti trains.
Sebewaing
There's a Michigan Sugar Co-op that ships out beet-pulp and molasses and another Cooperative Elevator that receives fertilizer and ships out grain.

I don't see any Bad Axe customers on Dave's list...

There's a fertilizer dealer out by the airport that had tank cars a couple times two summers back.

I'm also surprised to see Peatville listed as a customer. When I was up that way working for the road commission a couple summers ago, there was no activity on the line by the peat place. Never saw a single car sitting around in all the times I was in that neighborhood.

Forgot about that, too. Cooperative Elevator operates a fertilizer place there. No grain though, just inbound fertilizer. One of those smaller places too, probably only around a dozen cars or so a year.

They wrote it was a warehouse for dog food so it'll probably arrive in bags in box cars.

Drove past that new spur yesterday while on my way to a friends house in marlette, from my observation it looks as though they are in operation now as they looked to have about 3 covered hoppers on thier spur and some front end loading device sitting next to the tracks-possibly for spotting the cars?

Also looked like there was a good chunk of covered hoppers on this line near the richville elevator-at least from what I could tell from m-46

Hope this helps,

What about the stone quarry south of Bayport? It's been 10 years since I've been up there but I thought there was still a spur.

That's Wallace Stone that RailNut mentioned. At one time they shipped stone to the Redi-Mix plant in Deckerville in the sugar beet cars that were not in use because sugar beet harvest was over until late fall. I don't know if this movement is still active.
