What Railroad has operations in the city of Windsor? Do any have an operations hub in the city or just a place they pass through. In other words an intermodal terminal or large railyard?

If no one gets to this I'll pull my Tains Mag article about Detroit railroading. They have pretty good info about Windsor, and yes, there's some good railfanning over there.

One of the members here railfanned the shortline over in Windsor and put together a nice thread about it.

Essex Terminal is a shortline with yards at ETL Walker and Ojibway. It runs south about 22 miles serving a quite a few good volume customers. They run several day shifts and possibly a 2nd and 3rd shift too.

CN has a yard at Van de Water on their CASO Sub. They operate a transfer out of Detroit and back and a yard/local job that works east and returns daily. CN uses ET to get to their Chatham Sub.

CP operates from Windsor Yard and has the highest volume of trains in Windsor, 20-25 per day.

CN and CP switch a Chrysler plant

No fax what issue is it in? I might be able to get it off ebay or through the Trains magazine back issue.

There was an article in R&R in the August 2007 edition about railfanning Detroit.

All I know as of last year I was in Windsor is that the ETR runs a transfer train from Ojibway Yard to the CP interchange south of Erie Street. I've chased it from the crossing at Canada's Customs when you come off the Ambassador Bridge to CP's Windsor Yard. The run seems to be around noon-ish. It was cool to see an SW1200? and 25 cars with a caboose at the end. :)
