I think the plow is based in cadillac. I wonder if they will be plowing on the way north or the way south. They usually do it on the way up. Either way I hopw to be out for some photos. Any body else planning on going out?

Should be noted that this is a railroad so things may change. Just a disclaimer to cover my butt. :D :D

It's nice to see railroads using the plow cabooses like the GLC is. I just hope they don't derail like they did in Cadillac a few years ago. Although it did make great photos on Railpicky.

I caught the GLC north bound today with a short frieght and the plow bringing up the rear. Here are a couple short videos. Sorry about the low quality ... Enjoy.

No such monkey as a plow caboose.....It's called a Russel plow and it is purpose built for just that. Does kinda look like it now that you mention it

After the 391 and 390 came north to Petoskey yesterday, heres some shots from Great Lakes Central's southbound plow extra ran today:

At the Boyne City, Gaylord and Alpena overpass ruins, 391 and the 4502 head upgrade.

Along side US-131 the plow extra enjoys and easy pace near Alba.

Further along at the US-131 overpass south of Fife Lake.

After the 391 left Petoskey, the 390 worked the line picking up empty cars from Petoskey Plastics, Holcim, East Jordan Plastics (Mancelona team) and seen here working in Kalkaska where they gathered up a tank car and boxcar.

I agree, great shots as always KC. Wish I could've chased but the dispatcher said no. Was a pretty sizable train coming back from up there though.

Nice shots KC. Looks like they used the old rail grade to run power lines.

Great pix, KC. Nice to see more than just a couple cars on a train in Kalkaska.
