Yea, I know who you guys are. =) Thanks for the comments and ratings. I remember a while back going through Michigan Line NS and Amtrak vids and and realising we come to the same forum.

They have the same consist today:
P42 Genesis #40
35000 series Coach-Cafe
(2) 31000 series Coaches
P42 Genesis #121
About a half hour late into Ann Arbor... got a sweet shot of them at that rural crossing near where the Artrain used to sit.
Craig - the Horizon cars (normal coaches on Wolverine line trains) tend to freeze up pretty bad during the harsh winter months, as their water pipes and such are pretty much exposed along the undercarriage of the car. If possible, Amtrak substitutes Superliners on some consists during this time of the year to alleviate some of this, as the Superliners don't freeze up near so easily. Only a limited number of trains run like this usually, because most Superliner cars aren't fitted for push-pull operation (plus they need to maintain long distance service). Last week, 350/355 ran with a back-to-back set of units on one end and ran around the train at Pontiac, using cars not equipped for push-pull. This tends to be a slower season on Amtrak's long distance trains, so they can free up a few extra long distance cars for corridor service (although, with the economy the way it is, the long distance trains are the only ones really showing any passenger growth at the moment!). Once things start to warm up, the Superliners will go back to the long distance fleet, the Horizons will come back, and things will be "back to normal." Till then, 350/355 are running for the moment with Superliners (either 3 or 4), and the Blue Water and Pere Marquette have them at the moment, as well.
