When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
Does anyone know when 765 will be leaving Owosso to go back home? Also do you know if it will be behind TSBY engines or leading? I kinda want to catch it in Durand.
Thanks
Thanks

Given the fact that the 765 will again be dealing with multiple freight carriers who may or may not appreciate this stuff being known, I wouldn't expect any information or times to be posted anywhere (Remember July??).
Re: When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
In July many people knew about 765 coming in. I was at Durand that day and in the city of Durand there were probably atleast 100 people.RailCanon wrote:Given the fact that the 765 will again be dealing with multiple freight carriers who may or may not appreciate this stuff being known, I wouldn't expect any information or times to be posted anywhere (Remember July??).

When are they leaving cadilac to head back to owosso? and does anybody know about when they will be passing through clare? I missed them on the way up.
Re: When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
Well, obviously you missed them on the way back, too.

I'll cut you a little more slack, since apparently these guys are forgetting that all of 1225's prior Cadillac trips were two-day operations (Owosso-Cadillac one day, overnight, return the next). While it was published and widely known as a one-day excursion starting in Alma, I can understand where someone who may or may not have been in the loop could have been confused.

When it gets billing

Nice Engine. Great People. What's the hurry to have them leave. Maybe 765 can stay the winter and do a couple Polar Express runs. Santa can have a pair of Berks pulling his sleigh.
Re: When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
Even better have SRI and 765 organization join! That would be great! 765 could stay in Indiana and 1225 in Owosso, but run more excursions together, either in Michigan or Indiana! More steam in Durand then...DLM wrote:Nice Engine. Great People. What's the hurry to have them leave. Maybe 765 can stay the winter and do a couple Polar Express runs. Yea, tell that to the Class Ones and GLC, I bet they'll like your suggestion. Won't happen Ben. Too much liability.

James,
GLC seems to like the 1225 and 765 otherwise do you think TF09 woulda happened? How about the photo frieghts they allow to run?
Oh and read the whole post, Ben clearly state at the bottom and I quote, "I WISH".
Just pointing out the obvious

Rule #1: BerkshireKid is God. Rule #2: God is always right. Rule #3: If you think you may actually be right refer to Rules #1 & #2.
Re: When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
As I recall from July, we had "some idea" of when and more specific information a day or so before (although it still ran earlier than expected on the day of) and there was plenty of foam out despite the "secrecy"bnsfben wrote:In July many people knew about 765 coming in. It would be nice if we could get at least the same on this site for the return - or worse case a "hey, it just left this morning!" posted here...
Of course I'm open to PM's with good info that I'll treat appropriately...

Recently I have detected a certain arrogance among "some" of those in the know, who like to keep us peons who are not in the "know" in the dark. I guess being "in the loop" is very important to some egos. So important that they can not or will not share any of their "know",since it might diminish their loop status.

Thats exactally what I was thinking Dane! What are the Class I's 765 would take to get back? Ofcourse CN Holly Sub, but I dont know what else.DR wrote:James,

HAVING RECENTLY TALKED TO A COUPLE PEOPLE "IN THE KNOW", I CAN SAY THAT SRI DOES NOT WANT CERTAIN INFO RELEASED BEFORE ---THEY WANT TO RELEASE IT---.
THE HOST RAILROADS ARE ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE RELEASE OF INFO.
WAIT AND LISTEN AND YOU WILL EVENTUALLY HEAR.
I DOUBT THAT 765 COULD SNEEK OUT OF OWOSSO WITHOUT SOMEONE SEEING IT.
WHEN IT HAPPENS, WE WILL ALL KNOW.
ARE YOU A DUES PAYING MEMBER OF SRI ???
IF NOT, HOW ABOUT JOINING AND SUPPORTING SRI.!!!

Re: When Is 765 Leaving Owosso To Go Home?
Thanx for the post, Greg, and I did read the thread. I find it saddening that AMtrakjackson even had to bring it up. It seems only natural to me that people who have an inside source would protect that source, but then that is me and I guess not everyone thinks like I do.RailCanon wrote:Read this.hobojim wrote:Recently I have detected a certain arrogance among "some" of those in the know, who like to keep us peons who are not in the "know" in the dark. My post was directed more toward the responses to questions that start out with phrases like " thats been posted many times" as was done last summer when someone asked about the schedule of the arrival of the engine from outwest. Or like today the one that includes the phrase " I will cut you some slack" .
Please, if I ever ask a dumb question that must include condescending phrases like those in the answer, I would just as soon not get an answer. I don't need anyone cutting me some slack to answer my question. This board has been a motherlode of info and good will,(PRE excepted), and I would just as soon keep it that way. I really don't want to inconvenience someone for an answer.

Does that come with a "secret decoder ring" for all this super-secret info?PAT.C wrote: ARE YOU A DUES PAYING MEMBER OF SRI ???
I somewhat understand where they (SRI and the host RR's) are coming from but it's just another example in our society of stupidity of a few spoiling things for everyone else due to "fear of what might happen"...
(lawyer/legal issue paranoia being a big motivator of the "fear" part)
