Today (11-17-09) CN crews replaced the diamonds at Durand. They dug about 5-6 feet below tracklevel to replace the old balast. The last update I had was they were setting the new diamond in place around 4:30 PM. I dont know if they are still working but, I should be ready to run trains through it, in time for Amtrak to come.
I know some people dont care... but just telling the people that are interested.

Would the new diamond disturb ATCS because I am not able to pick up Durand going across the diamonds. I am not a ATCS expert, so I was just wondering.

I don’t think the new diamond would affect ATCS with out also affecting what the dispatchers see in Troy. However, Durand is on line for me now.
