Sean, first of all welcome to the board. I'm sure the CN guys here can give you more info, but a good way to keep up is check the CN update threads when you can.

Re: Train times for Chesterfield
Best advice I can give is listen to the scanner because the Mt. Clemens Subdivision is dispatched by track authority. The frequencies you'll need are 160.530 and 160.590. The yard channel 160.845 can also provide some Intel on what trains are around.
Here is are some general times that trains operate through Mt. Clemens. Being the railroad it can and does change, but its been pretty consistent.
Northbounds
144 - 5 to 7pm.
382- 2 to 4am.
384 - 5 to 7pm.
Southbounds
145- 2 to 5am.
383 - 11pm to 1am
385 - 12 to 3pm.
Locals
204 is the night local out of Detroit and generally never comes up past Fraser. They usually run around midnight.
524 and 529 run out of Port Huron. 529 will usually get into Detroit around 8am, and 524 will get down to Chesterfield around lunch time.
The last 276 that I heard ran Monday night.
