CSX derail in Flint

Unread post by firemedic54 »

I didn't see it posted anywhere here but just an FYI, CSX had a derailment last night. According to Mlive.com it happened near Carpenter Rd. in Genesee Twp. Sounds like 5 cars off the track with 2 of them turned over. The report said the train originated in Toledo. No cause as of now.

Must have been Q322, that was the only train that went north last night.

Latest update now is they've opened Carpenter Rd. and the evacuated residents were returning. No mention of train traffic returning to normal.

Here is a link to Genesee County 911. The map shows the location of the derail. Listed as a Misc. Fire call. Will disappear when fire clears the scene.

Aren't Q321/Q322 pretty much the only regular trains to Flint on CSX?

While out and about this afternoon we got held up at the Grange Hall Rd. crossing in Holly for a relatively short train, maybe 30-40 cars. This was a SB so safe to say things are back up and running.
