This is from 2007, 8 years after Big Blue became "no more," but wow, she still looks good. Happy Birthday!

Fess up -- does anyone here have the Tenth Anniversary Plaque Conrail issued on 1 April 1986?

Happy Birthday Big Blue. Here's my latest piece of Conrail, numberboard from SD40-2R #6970, rebuilt from Kansas City Southern SD40 #620 in the early 1990's.

What font is that exactly, CR Jon? I've always been curious to know what font Conrail used.

No idea, Nathan. When they switched from white on black to black on white numberboards around 1990, they changed fonts as well. Before, some shops did NYC style font, while others did PRR. To my eyes, the black on white looks closest to PRR font.

Conrail went to INTERSTATE FONT when they started phasing out the white on Black boards
