That doesn't mean that they don't use them on other trains :lol: Melon fest used them previously, I think the north pole express has used them, the 1225 excursion this summer used them

I never said they were not in use for special occasions but I meant they have came back alive again since the controversy about them and the state stopped paying for them.

When did GLC get into the excursion business!?!? :roll: SRI leases the power along with these cars from GLC. Been happening for years and will continue.

From what I've heard regarding comments during the NPE 2014 and "Back to the Bricks" excursions these cars are not that comfortable to ride in. But then again I don't know what the people riding them were expecting.

I'm not sure what you guys were expecting, but I found these cars very comfortable on one of the fall color excursions. They swayed a little, but otherwise I was comfortable throughout the trip. Or perhaps I was just simply too in awe of being on the second deck to notice :D

That is because they are not intended to be ridden in for long periods of time. I would not expect reclining seats of even plush on a commuter train...

I did not ride in it for the color tour only used Metra to get to downtown from Schaumburg about an hour each way and not really all that bad and the MI Train seats look better if you ask me.

Read in the Morning Sun today that Mt. Pleasant wants to start a commuter rail service. Could use the rail cars up there.

Interesting that the FRYX reporting mark is not in the 8/2015 Official Equipment Register. Piedmont & Western RR Club site lists two with this mark of which the tank car one is an old expired one;
FRYX *FRYE & CO. [FRYE TANK LINE]
FRYX +FEDERATED RAILWAYS, INC.

FRYX is Federated Railways, the owners of GLC.
