Wyoming yard during a blizzard

Unread post by J T »

After getting some new tires on my car, I stopped down to the end of Judd St. real quick to see if there was any activity. I had to plow my way through to the end of the culdisac through about 6" of snow, as no plow had been down there yet. When I first pulled up, I noticed X500 was sitting down the tracks a ways, so I got a picture of that. Shortly after, CSX 2573 came by doing some yard work.

2. CSX 2573 emerges from the snow squall.

3. After passing by, they head back the other way.

4. 43 seconds later, they disappear into a white-out.

5. A few minutes later, a crew of four maintenance workers emerge to clear out the switches with their backpack blowers.

6. I took one more as they got closer, and then I was on my way.

What time did you snap the picture of the X500 because I heard a train today around 4:15 this afternoon and it sounded like a CP horn. Must be real fun for those railroad workers to be out in the yard.
My train pictures can now be found at:

And my train videos at:

NO!! I think I might go back out today for a little while...and it's ever colder today. Yes, call me crazy. Without crazy people like me, who else would document moments like this?!

Got that photo around 1:35. I didn't stick around very long, so I don't know what time it departed.
