McLouth Steel rail equipment

Now that most of the building demolition is done, what happened to whatever rail equipment that was left on the McLouth property? Shortly after the Morouns bought it there was an old switcher (had Big Mike painted on the hood) that they moved to the northwest end of the property right in front of the traffic light at Sibley Rd and it just disappeared one day. Was it still able to move under its own power? I imagine it was probably scrapped, it had to be right?

Wow I'm surprised it's still in that good shape and able to move under it's own power. The description on the picture says it's bound for Precision Locomotive Services in Staunton, Virginia. What do they do there, remanufacturing?

We, called it "Dirty Mike". :-) Took forever to get the engine cleared, ( Brakes & stuff ) ok'd to move. And then another forever to get it moved to Conrail's River Rouge yard. There is a YouTube vid of Dirty Mike moving on its own.

That kind of question is best answered by going direct to the company website.

I'm sure the tracks on site were in garbage condition before the demolition. I can only imagine how much worse it is now, if most of it hasn't been ripped out entirely.

You can see lots rail still in place, it was in use when they started the first scrapping operation. Mostly to move railroad related equipment around for scrapping.

The only rail I've physically seen lately is what is up running along the road. I'll have to ride my bike by there or try and get my buddy to fly his drone camera around there and see what it looks like now.
