Was up in TC over the weekend.
Just wondering if anyone had a Bates lumber, or other TC updates?
Wasn't sure how the price of lumber was affecting business...if at all.
Amerhart seems to receiving 1-2 cars per week and Beacon shipping 4-5 cars a week of scrap
If I could post at the other board I'd answer Alex's question there
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
I’m going up to TC for a day this weekend, what days does TC see trains and what’s the best spot to see them?
Good shots at Hammond rd. and River rd. where they go thru two short tunnels.
Of course at the train station where you can get quite close to the tracks as they use the run around to go East.
Along 5 mile rd. where you can get a good shot of East GT Bay behind the train. Good luck.
Recently they've come to TC on a Saturday, Friday, Wednesday, Tuesday...
So I can expect them anyday?
It's rare for a Saturday, but like I said, it happens (last time was a month or so ago). Sometimes it's the middle of the night, but usually they get into TC around 11am or so. Tuesday or Thursday are more common as SD80MAC mentioned, but I've seen them on any day of the week up here recently. I drove by Beacon yesterday and there are two ITFX gons loaded (or was that IBFX- I forget). Brand new-looking gons). GLC picked up 3 loads last week and retrieved an empty from Amerhart.
CEO of the Waving Institute- teaching great wave forms.
Go to the depot in Traverse city to The Filling Station brewery and restaurant! A good place to keep an eye out for their late morning arrival. I think they typically head to Beacon first, before going east to the lumberyard, but this way you can monitor what they do.
