Possible Date for Spring Meet in Durand!!!!

Unread post by David Lang »

Guys,

I have read your responses. We know that May 19th will not work (Durand RR Days) and May 26th becasue of Memorial Weekend. That leaves us with May 12th, May 5th, or even April 28th. I want to try and accomodate everyone that I can. I have had people say the 5th will work and others say the 12th. I had one individual say he would not be able to make either, so I will suggest April 28th. The weather on April 28th will probably not be much different than a week or two later and like I said, I desire to accomodate as many people as I can.

Please, everyone that is interested, chime in and let me know if April 28th is good or not and I'll make the date official if there is little or no objections!!!!! As always, majority rules. And again as always, everyone welcome!!!!! Thanks.

David Lang

I vote for May 12th... April 28th would be ok, but less warm usually.. May 5th is Cinco de Mayo..I'm on call that day as well, so I couldn't attend.

Any of those dates are fine with me. Last year, it was actually warmer in April than it was in May...and the year before as well. So I wouldn't worry about the weather on April 28 not being warm enough. Of course though, now that I said that, it's going to be cold.

Any of those dates are good for me, as long as they (GM) don't make us work.

April 28th is out for Durand!

Unread post by David Lang »

April 28th is out, too many people can't make it that day.

Now we are down to May 5th or May 12th. This will be difficult for me (us) to decide b/c between the Michiganrailroads message board and railfan.com, one person cannot come on May 5th and the other cannot come on the 12th.

I'm trying to accomodate everyone so, the only other option we may have if April 18th I guess, but that may be too early. Keep chiming in please :-) Thanks.

Dave,

April 18th is a Wednesday. Wouldn't the 21st be better? Just curious...

What is easer than wasting time is just pick a date! If people can make it they will if they cant than they wont. Why every year do we have to go through this crap? We dont need 18 diffrent posts on the same subject, on every web site. Just pick a date.

What is this railfan.com site? This is railroadfan.com.....

I see that JRV is the only one so far that can't make May 12th.. He said he'd go to the fall meeting, but skipped out...plus said he may not be able to go there may 5th anyway...
Let's set the date for May 12th.

David, we all know you work very hard to find a date that as many fans as possible can attend, it might seem like a pain but in the end it works out for the best for a lot more of us than just picking a date and hoping we can make it and only a few show up. A very BIG THANK YOU FROM THE TWO OF US. A lot of us are looking forward to the meet which ever weekend it ends up. We are ready to help with what ever, just let us know!

I have no choice but to get some new clothes. I have lost 110 pounds since mid August. No, I did not have the bypass surgery. :D
