New PM 1225 excursion train in a few weeks

I don’t know if anyone knows, but on June 15th, the Steam Railroading Institute is going to run PM 1225 first excursion of the year called the Freedom Flyer. It’s not going anywhere special like Cadillac or Howell, it’s going to Ashley. But it might still be neat to see

Quick search shows the link below with all their events and they have been advertising these pretty heavily for the last 3-4 weeks on their social medias. The freedom flyer is an awesome idea. Hands on the throttle already sold out but also seems like an awesome opportunity

Actually, this is reasonably exciting. When was the last time 1225 made a trip out of Owosso under steam that wasn’t related to North Pole Express? How many years ago? It's a major expense to fire up this tea kettle whether it’s making a long run or a shorter one, so I’ll be excited anytime 1225 is fired up, can stretch her legs, make some money for SRI, and rattle central Michigan with her whistle. I hope it’s a sell out!
