The conductor for Grand Trunk Railroad told authorities the man “looked right at him” when he saw him, but he was too close to stop the train in time,

Here we go again...The conductor doesn't stop the train!! dee dee dee!!!

The conductor will have an emergency brake valve ready, however, to use at his or her discretion.

I frequent the Holly in Springfield. Most of the crews have seen me, and I always stay well in the clear when taking pictures.

I just hope this doesn't result in hassles from CN police.

Sounds like the man had a death wish because if you are walking or sitting on tracks at night with a train coming how can you not see it? The headlights are so darn bright that you can see for miles
My train pictures can now be found at:

"Sounds like the man had a death wish"

May very well have. A deputy friend who patrols Springfield Twp told me the man was living in the woods in close proximity to where he was hit.
