My guess would be M420's are going to LSRC / SBS.

Thanks Patrick. I'll look forward to finding out what MQT will do with the M420's.

I got it from a pretty good source that they will NOT be added to the MQT roster.

If not, what would they do with them? It's not like they can part them out for spare parts for their own engines.

Maybe's they'll tap them into the power grid to provide power during peak times like some Montana Rail Link units do.

They could load the engine onto the SS Badger to provide some electrical power, or hook up it's engine to the gearing for the propellers to propel the boat across the lake..then we'd have cross-lake rail traffic again :)

They could tie long ropes to the units, and use a Panama Canal like system in Manistee to pull the large ships through the canal and to their docks.

Maybe they want some locals to go up to them on a Saturday night and take turns with a sledge hammer to the units during a kegger. This last one might be why there was a KCS unit around Holland yesterday with a broken windshield.. KCS 4589.

Just some random ideas :)

Maybe they're just teasing railfans. I know that if I owned a railroad, I'd do things like that.

Will one of their customers use them for intra-plant switching?
