MQT Rail: Santa Train 2009
Another great run for the Marquette Rail Santa Train with sunshine and no snowstorms. 12/12/09
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxmELNIWR4w
GMTX 2635, MQT 7000, MQT 1009, and MQT 3158 pull to a stop in Casnovia.
Grant
Newaygo
White Cloud
5 Mile Road north of Diamond Lake.
The first year for a stop at Bitely.
18 Mile Road.
A winter wonderland.
Carr Road Baldwin.
Baldwin Depot
Scottville
Covered hoppers on the spur in Scottville.
Gordon Road west of Scottville.
Not much for parking on First Street in Ludington, many more cars behind this point of view.
Tossing Frisbees provided by Interstate Asphalt in Manistee.
East Marshall Road Tallman.
The tree was a neat idea, looked nice at night. Stopped on Main Street in Fountain.
Last stop at River Street in Manistee. Back at Stronach, they had a Santa Train Party at the hall from 4 to 9pm. Martin Marietta had parking available with free shuttles from Dial-A-Ride buses.
A fine job done by everyone involved. ENJOY

Thanks for the post and photos enjoyed.
A great photographer can make a great photo out of any kind of light from any angle at any time, life is not a studio! There is no such thing as bad light.

Excellent photos Brandon. You are truely a master of the Marquette photography. Question for you. The photo you took at White Cloud with the 2635 and the old elevator (or whatever it is in the background) in black and white, can it me made into a color photo?
Re: MQT Rail: Santa Train 2009
Thanks for all the nice comments!
I think it's an old feed mill. I chose to have that image black and white because of the half blue and white sky in color. Also cropped like that to leave the power lines out in the top left corner. Here's the color version though.KCS KNOCKE TOWER wrote:Excellent photos Brandon. You are truely a master of the Marquette photography. Question for you. Great shots Brandon, I was in Daytona Beach that weekend for business (80 degrees) but I would have rather been in Manistee!
