40 minutes at Joliet

Unread post by Ypsi »

So we got up and drove to joliet yesterday, and got to spend 40 minutes at Joliet Union station.

Didn't get to photograH the power on the first BNSF train, but it had a Santa fe paint dash 8 and a BNSF paint dash9, but what I did photograph was the CSX gp15-1 on the reAr of the train.

By luck amtrak 22 arrived next with p42 45 and 8 cars.

A metrA came on the rock island to make a station stop

This was the highlight of the day, a UP coal train comes in on track 4 from Chicago and stops. After the metrA arrives it gets going power was a UP dash 9 and a Southern Pacific ac4400. After they get going I look to the north and see a NS tofc/ intermodal train coming in on track 3 racing the UP coal train! after the coal train finished going by we had to leave, but it was a great 40 minutes, the best raildannig I've had.

Pictures will come soon
